High winds of over 70 MPH and dangerous conditions forced the closure of bay area bridges and transit services. On Friday, January 4th at 11:40am, the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge remains closed in both directions due to high winds. The Golden Gate Bridge is now closed to truck traffic, and has buffer lanes in both directions. Motorists are advised to expect severe delays and to use alternate routes and bridges. There is no estimated time to reopen the roadways.
