Diamond mining company De Beers, through a pending class-action lawsuit settlement, will pay millions of Americans refunds totaling up to $135 million. The lawsuits accused De Beers of price-fixing in the sales of rough diamonds purchased between 1994 and 2006. To get your refund, you will need a receipt or other proof of purchase for your diamonds.
The proposed class-action settlement must still be approved by a federal judge in New Jersey in April and diamond buyers will have until May 19 to file a claim by going to http://www.diamondsclassaction.com.
